David Wharton / Managing Director

David is the proud owner of ActiveVision NZ and brings with him 20 years of experience in the corporate world, where he successfully led multiple cross-functional teams. Passionate about delivering high-performance results, David ensures customer and partner satisfaction through excellent execution and unwavering support from his dedicated team at ActiveVision.

Beyond his professional endeavours, David is driven by a deep motivation to enhance educational standards in New Zealand. He aspires to bridge the digital divide, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to the learning opportunities provided by technology. With a strong sense of purpose, David strives to make a meaningful contribution towards creating a more equitable society.

Brett Stacey / General Manager

Brett has been working in the technology industry for 14 years and has worked in a variety of roles. Most recently rejoining the team at ActiveVision as General Manager.
He enjoys helping businesses throughout NZ to become more agile and implement collaborative video conferencing solutions. Equally as important he enjoys working directly with the customer and delivering a client-first solution. Taking the extra time to understand your specific requirements.

Eric Eli / National Service Manager

Eric enjoys establishing new and successful relationships with all our clients. His extensive experience in AV now spans over two decades, he looks to draw on his experiences whilst continuing to grow with a vibrant and extremely professional team.
As ActiveVisions National Service Manager, it is his goal to provide implementations, delivery, services and support that is second to none and continue to do so in a positive and professional manner.

Dan Parks / National Solution Specialist

With a solid background in New Zealand’s audio-visual industry, Dan brings a deep understanding of audio-visual technology and its evolving trends. Dan excels at creating custom solutions that blend technology seamlessly and he plays a crucial role in supporting our sales team to ensure professional outcomes. Known for his sharp troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, Dan is adept at navigating technical challenges and delivering outstanding results.

Natalie Tubman / Head of Education

Natalie Tubman is our Head of Education and has a wealth of experience within the education sector. 17 years of Teaching, development of STEM learning programmes along with recently being the Regional Director for N4L. She comes with a breadth of knowledge and skills that assists in all areas of a schools teaching and learning journey. Natalie is extremely passionate about providing all ākonga access and use of technology in classrooms that enhance learning outcomes. She very much puts students learning at the centre of her thinking and solutions.

Geoff Grant / Operations Manager

Geoff has been with ActiveVision for over 10 years and has a wealth of knowledge of the whole business.
As ActiveVisions Operations Manager, his role is to ensure that the Technical team and the company’s IT infrastructure is running smoothly to ensure great service and customer relationships. He also manages and maintains our all our IT Systems that manage stock, sales & service reporting and accounting providing a flexible but robust solution to manage our day to day activities.

Jackie Smith /
Marketing and Partnership Manager

With both a degree in Educational Psychology and experience in the computer industry as well as a teaching qualification Jackie combines these skills and brings her knowledge of Digital Technologies into the classroom.

Jackie's knowledge of schools and school communities ensures that the solutions that she proposes are robust and supported by the latest theory while still being easily implemented within any school environment.

Jackie has a passion for all things techie, and a passion for all things human. She believes the combination of both is the way of the future for tamariki, kaiako and whanau.

Carol Birdsall / Office Manager

Carol joined ActiveVision in 2019 and has over ten years Accounting and Administration expertise.
As ActiveVision's Accounts Administrator she ensures the provision of financial accounting services and administration support.
Carol enjoys being a part of a passionate team here at ActiveVision.

Heath Williamson /
National Account Manager

In his role as National Account Manager - Education, Heath fully values the relationships he has with schools. After 25 years in relationship roles , his success comes from working closely with clients to understand their vision and how he can help them achieve this. One of his key strengths is being able to communicate, what can be complex solutions, into everyday language that everyone can understand and see the benefits to the schools he works with.

Higher Education Manager

David is an experienced Sales Professional with over 20 years experience in delivering outstanding customer service.
He thrives on always getting results and building lifelong business relationships. Passionate about the customer experience, he is looking forward to getting to know the business and help drive success through tailoring solutions for his Schools.

Sean Pearson / Sales associate

Sean spent the first 16 years of his career as an engineer working in the UK, the Netherlands and finally settling in NZ. After wanting a complete change in his career and setting himself new targets and goals, he decided that’s using his gift of the gab was best served in sales, as a sales associate for ActiveVision.

He has a passion for learning a completely new role, enjoys interacting with customers and loves the forward thinking and ambitions of ActiveVision.

Outside of work, he loves Liverpool FC, being a dad, walking his dog and is an avid gamer.

Ian Shemilt / Senior Technology Consultant

With 30 years of experience in Digital Imaging and integration, Ian has honed a versatile skill set in both the government & commercial sectors, particularly in AV, video, graphics, and industrial design. Ian can support and advise on all your AV, Digital Signage and integration into your existing IT architecture.Specialties:, Digital signage, UC, Corporate boardrooms, Digital kiosk, Variable Data, Video editing, Audio and Photographic Systems.

Max O’Loughlin /
Business Development Associate

Max, equipped with a degree in design, joins ActiveVision following four years of immersion in face-to-face sales environments. His objective is to apply his design expertise to effectively nurture and enrich relationships with new corporate accounts. Assuming the role of a business development associate, Max will concentrate on fostering new business connections for ActiveVision.

Connor Nickel /
Business Development Associate

Connor joins the ActiveVision team as a dedicated Business Development Associate. Armed with a Business Degree and over a year of sales experience spanning insurance and shipping/logistics sectors, Connor's passion for technology and sales intricacies shines through in his work. Connor thrives on building meaningful relationships and is eager to explore how we can elevate your business together through innovative tech solutions designed just for you.

John Morris / Technical Services Manager

John entered the technology industry as a TV technician apprentice and has held various roles over the years including Business Electronics, IT, Medical Electronics and Electronics Manufacturing.
As ActiveVisions Technical Service Manager, John prides himself in providing our customers the best service, support and delivery possible.

Tim Sheard / AV Technician

Tim has over 17 years' experience in customer service positions over his career.
With a passion for the AV industry, he enjoys being around and seeing the latest technologies available.
Tim has always had an eye for detail and with that strives to install all elements of AV at the highest level.

Ross Brodie / AV Technician

Ross' journey with ActiveVision began in 2021 after emigrating from Scotland. It was there he started in the AV industry 1 years prior, specializing in live sound and theatre technology, obtaining a degree in the same field.His current role with the company is an AV Installer, as well as automated systems programmer and configrator. Working with partners like QSC and BiAmp, helping or valued clients get the most out of their smart control systems.

Jacques Naude / AV Technician

Jacques’s 20 years’ experience in broadcast and broadcast technologies brings a radical way of thinking to his role as AV Technician, thinking out of the box is his forte! Bringing critical thinking, creative and resourceful planning and a ‘let’s get this done’ attitude, Jacques strives to get the best solution for ActiveVision clients. He believes staying informed about the latest technologies is essential in our rapidly evolving world, so he is always learning and questioning.

Brad Fisher / AV Technician

With over a decade of experience in the vibrant world of theatre technologies, Brad Fisher has gained a unique perspective on creating immersive environments that captivate and inspire. Recently transitioning to the realm of AV installations, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for excellence to ActiveVision. Beyond work, Brad enjoys his love for racing and pro wrestling.

Shane Smith / AV Technician

Shane got his start in the telecommunications industry in Calgary, with a move to Vancouver and subsequent career change to the AV side of things in the mid 2000's. Running his own business which consisted of pre-wiring and installing high end residential AV systems, he then spread to commercial installations including large scale building projects and post secondary lecture halls and classrooms. Having now moved back home to New Zealand, Shane has added interactive touch panels to his repetoire as a technician for ActiveVision.
